High-Pitch Ringtones in Advertising

Last year, we wondered whether the high-pitched sounds used to drive teenagers away from mall parking lots would be used with the opposite purpose -- to drive them to something. Now we know the answer is yes. Sony is promoting a new movie The Messengers with two freely downloadable ultrasonic ringtones by using which "teenagers can leave their cell phones on and receive messages virtually undetected by adults."
