Looks like TiVo, if it manages to stay alive ( here's the
TiVo Deathwatch) is on its way to
probably become the next, and we hope, more successful version of
WebTV (or should we say WebTiVo). Last week, a PayPal/eBay development group
released an eBay client (pictured above) for HME (TiVo's open dev platform). Yesterday, my RSS reader got the news of an
application that displays Flickr pictures on the device. Also yesterday,
Slashdot got into a discussion on whether TiVo should let users "download, store, organize, and serve media from both cable and -- this is the important part -- the internet."
