White Doors for Domino's as Pizza Landmarks

In a brilliant outdoor campaign, Domino's pizza in the Netherlands installed white doors featuring delivery phone number and equipped with doorbells for the delivery people to ring.

It's a great idea not only because of the conversation value the campaign creates, but also because of how it unbinds the delivery address from a typical pizza destination -- a home or an office; something taxi cab companies could use as well. It also establishes the brand as a public space landmark.

  2. It's a clever campaign, but it really is kind of ugly.

  4. It's different, but kinda cool. Lets say you are out at a park and don't want to leave since you are watching kids or with a bunch of people. You can go to the door and get the number to order pizza. They then can deliver it to you at that door. Nice concept.

  5. pretty cool for a one-off, short-term campaign, but imagine what our public spaces would look like if other companies jumped on board?

  6. This might work well in the Netherlands, but in many other places, the "door" will be defaced, vandalised if not burnt down within days!
