Camera Phones and Barcodes Tie Billboards and Web




I already posted about campaigns that use barcodes, camera phones and traditional media to create a "transmedia" campaigns, and AdRants brings the topic back into the limelight with its post on Northwest Airlines' campaign in Japan using QR codes by Semacode (see update below). AdRants' readers point at two other providers of similar technology, QTags and AboutCodes, and an urban game ConQwest (pictured above, more here) by Qwest Communications, that was the first big use of QR codes in the US.
