Oh, wow. So much for the subtlety of the new ad format -- just bumped into a background wrap on Digg promoting a video game.

Update: And, surprise, site users hate it (via).

    Yeah, I saw a digg post about how dragon age totally just engulfed the entire digg site, kinda ridiculous if you ask me...

    To me, advertising is supposed to be subtle, blaring images like this are crude and unnecessary

    This is a pretty common format, although there's usually a relevant rectangle were that RIM banner is.
